Japanese wineberry (Rubus phoenicolasius)
Japanese wineberry. A medium size trailing shrub, growing to 2 m (6 ft) high with prickly trailing biennial stems which root at the tips. It produces large crops of very nice raspberry-like sweet fruits in summer; the fruits are well-protected by a calyx until they ripen thus suffer less bird and insect damage. Any well-drained soil in sun or part shade; hardy to -20ºC. Container grown.
Out of stock (for plants, stocks go live in mid July)
