Paulownia is a tree with a genus of between 6–17 species (depending on the taxonomic authority) from the monogeneric family Paulowniaceae, related to and sometimes included in the Scrophulariaceae. Paulownia is a genus of Asian hardwood trees native of China and which have been cultivated there for the past 3000 years.
