Elaeagnus x ebbingei Compacta
£10.00
A smaller more compact cultivar of E.ebbingei, an evergreen shrub to 2-3 m (6-10 ft) high with dark silvery green leaves, tiny fragrant flowers in autumn and red fruits (2 cm by 1 cm) which ripen in April or May, which are richly flavoured when fully ripe. A very good hedging and windbreak plant, it also fixes nitrogen. Will grow almost anywhere – poorer sites seem to encourage more fruiting – in sun or quite deep shade; hardy to -20ºC. Pollinated by other ebbingei selections.
Out of stock (For plants, a selection of summer/warm-weather plants is available June/July and our main stock list from August, for autumn/winter delivery)
